The Boone County Development Agency (BCDA) is pleased to announce the addition of Caleb Poore to its board of directors. Poore serves as the President and CEO of Boone County Health Center (BCHC) and brings additional economic development experience to BCDA.

“I want to do my part to help our community succeed. The BCDA isn’t just about Albion; it’s about all the surrounding communities,” commented Poore. “Just as we’re not just Albion Health Center but Boone County Health Center, our efforts benefit everyone around us.”

Upon taking the position of President and CEO of BCHC, Poore and his family moved to Albion in late 2023. His healthcare career began in physical therapy and transitioned to healthcare administration four years later. In this area, he has served as director of rehabilitation, multi-site director of rural health clinics, and chief financial officer. These experiences have supported his ability to understand challenges from a holistic view, collaborate with diverse teams, and maximize funding to best support an organization’s goals.

Additionally, Poore was involved in economic development projects while living in Callaway, Nebraska.

“I was born and raised in a rural area, with both of my parents being teachers, so I understand the middle-class lifestyle. If small towns are going to continue to exist, we all have to come together to ensure their success. Too often, the success or failure of rural communities falls on the shoulders of just two or three people, which is a heavy burden to bear. But when more people pitch in, the load becomes lighter,” Poore concluded.

BCDA is a nonprofit organization specializing in economic development that supports the Boone County area. Led by a board of directors representing the county and each community, BCDA creates economic opportunity for Boone County through five core categories of responsibility:

Boone County Promotion; Business Recruitment, Retention, Expansion, And Transition; Next-Generation Business And Community Leadership Development; Community Collaborations; and Workforce Development and Support.
