Careers worth coming home to.

Business & Industry Day introduces students to the careers available right here in Boone County, including many they may never have known existed. Skilled trades, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, technology, small business, and more. They meet the local people behind each one and see how they work, up close.

The goal is simple. When students know what is possible in their own communities, coming back becomes a real choice, after college, trade school, or wherever life takes them.

9:15 – 9:45 am

Registration

Students arrive and check in at Niewohner Arena.

9:45 – 10:00 am

Welcome

A quick kickoff and overview of the day ahead.

10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Career showcase

Local businesses set up demonstrations, hands-on activities, and video presentations at the Boone County Ag and Education Center. Students explore careers across more than 18 industries and talk directly with the people who do the work.

12:30 – 1:00 pm

Lunch

A break to eat and connect, catered by a Boone County restaurant.

1:00 – 2:30 pm

Guest speaker & workshop

Guest speaker, Lamarr Womble provides an interactive session to close out the day.

Show students what you do

Set up a booth, a demonstration, or a hands-on activity and introduce students to a career in your field. It is one of the most direct ways to grow the workforce you will hire from next.

For volunteers

Help the day run

Volunteers greet students, guide groups between stations, and help set up/tear down. Register and our team will follow up with everything you need to know.
