Full-Time, 36 hours per week. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. Your attention to detail, technical proficiency, and ability to work effectively under pressure will contribute to the success of our surgical team and the well-being of our patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterilized and readily available.
- Assist surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Anticipate surgeon’s needs by familiarizing yourself with procedures and preferences.
- Handle specimens and ensure they are properly labeled and sent to the laboratory for analysis.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care before, during, and after surgery.
- Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room.
- Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and supplies used.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program; or one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (one year of education equals one year of experience)
- Must be able to take call and respond within 30 minutes
- Knowledge of operating room procedures
- Knowledge of equipment, instruments and supplies used in the operating room
- Knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Surgical technician experience preferred
