The Opportunity

Responsible for completing various aspects of AGI-Sentinel Shipping & Receiving processes and procedures in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner. Safely unload, maneuver, store, and load product while maintaining compliance with all safety and quality policies. Partner with other departments and peers to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. Assist with other operational functions, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and demonstrate company safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations such as: Wearing PPE safety shoes, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, and gloves. Ensure that the area complies with all OSHA standards.
  • Accurately stage and verify building components and quantities in preparation for loading.
  • Verify, document, and place building products on trailers so they fit and can be secured, while meeting legal requirements, and ensuring product will safely reach their destination without damage.
  • Follow assigned shipping schedule to prioritize work and meet customer requirements.
  • Unload, maneuver, and store materials using appropriate equipment, following all safety standards.
  • Locate, load and deliver raw materials to support fabrication departments, as required, or instructed.
  • Process and complete all required documentation and deliver to appropriate locations.
  • Support and assist with various Receiving procedures and tasks, as needed.
  • Create or complete appropriate documentation for inbound and outbound freight.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, including office, yard, and material storage areas.
  • Maintain assigned equipment as directed
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Excellent Attendance.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Required Experience: 6+ months of experience
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    •  Must have basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP software
    • Must be able to work outdoors under all weather conditions.
    • Must be able to efficiently climb and descend semi-trailers with ease (up to 14′ high).
    • Must be able to read and interpret BOL’s, shipping lists, Purchase Orders, and other documents as well as write legibly.
    • Must possess a high degree of organization, attention to detail, be a self-starter.
    • Must be capable of operating various material handling equipment, including forklifts, side-lifts, and overhead cranes.
    • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
