Boone County Medical Clinics is looking for a compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented Medical Support Assistant to join our patient care team. In this vital position, you’ll assist nursing staff and medical providers in delivering exceptional care across our clinic network. What You’ll Do

As a Medical Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with patient admissions and clinical documentation in the EMR
  • Taking vital signs, verifying medications/allergies, and collecting lab specimens
  • Preparing for and assisting in minor procedures and surgeries
  • Performing diagnostic testing and ensuring accurate documentation of findings
  • Maintaining smooth patient flow and room readiness across providers
  • Acting as a float between providers as needed to ensure clinic efficiency
  • Responding to emergent situations with calm and competence
  • Supporting infection control, HIPAA compliance, and safety protocols
  • Collaborating with providers and departments to coordinate care
  • Participating in regular trainings and continuous quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current Certified Medication Aide in Nebraska 
  • Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course
  • Current CNA certification in Nebraska (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in rural clinics or as a CNA/CMA (preferred)
