Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, and maintaining laboratory equipment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver accurate and timely test results that support patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, quality assurance protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Laboratory Testing & Analysis
    • Perform accurate and timely tests across various disciplines (e.g., Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Phlebotomy).
    • Ensure proper reporting, quality control, and troubleshooting of test results.
  • Training & Competency
    • Assist in training new and existing staff and participate in competency assessments.
  • Equipment & Instrument Maintenance
    • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring proper function and availability of supplies.
  • Documentation & Recordkeeping
    • Maintain accurate test records, verify lab orders, and ensure proper documentation of results.
  • Communication
    • Communicate critical results to medical staff and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and patients.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines throughout laboratory processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) by an accredited certification agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of laboratory testing procedures across multiple disciplines.
  • Proficient in laboratory information systems and standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
