Materials Coordinator

Description

 Working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, this position supports the maintenance department including Maintenance Technicians and Instrumentation & Electrical Technicians along with other areas of the plant as required.  Performs clerical and administrative functions as needed to maintain the material inventory for the entire facility. This position will work directly with the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS, using the SAP system).

  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels and product loss control.
  • Performs cycle counting of stocked inventory and supplies as needed, maintains 90% or better of cycle counts.
  • Prepares reconciliation of physical count.
  • Assists in maintaining and improving efficient inventory and warehouse logistics.
  • Investigates material discrepancies and reports reasons for discrepancies to management.
  • Compiles and maintains records including description, quantity, backorders, and date received of all inventory stocked in the maintenance department.
  • Assembles and labels parts packages for pre-planned and scheduled work.
  • Provides support to other Valero Renewable Plants when needed.
  • Works additional hours to support annual turn-arounds.
  • Operates equipment such as forklifts while unloading trucks and maintaining inventory

 

This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.

 

Qualifications

 

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of inventory/warehouse experience required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word , Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system, i.e. SAP, preferred.
  • Able and willing to work on-site and in-person required.
