Load Out Crew

Pillen Family Farms is a family owned business located in Nebraska. We market approximately 2 million pigs annually. As a family-owned and family-focused farming operation, great care goes into everything we do. From family members to team members, to even our pigs we believe in treating others with respect and as part of our family.

 

Job Description:

  • Load out crew team members are responsible for the daily movement, sorting, and loading of finish pigs at a variety of locations.
  • The load out crew is responsible for the assessment of pig condition; determining if pigs are stressed during the loading process and adjusting to prevent additional stress.
  • Team members must be able to move, sort, and load pigs in a gentle manner to minimize stress and injury to pigs, themselves, and others on the team.
  • Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Business analysis and planning.
    • Development of annual operational targets as well as long range strategic goals.
    • Developing and ensuring all communications are coordinated to the respective managers.
    • Comply with and enforce all bio-security, safety, and animal welfare policies.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
  • Non-stop walking; a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Steady balance, agility, and reaching required for sorting and movement of pigs.
  • Must be able to lift up to a maximum of 100 pounds consistently, with frequent lifting or carrying of object weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Continuous bending to reach pigs (approximately 300 times per day) for sorting and loading.
  • Comply with and enforce all bio-security, safety, and animal welfare policies.
