Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize EMR functionality to enhance clinical workflows and improve patient care outcomes.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, IT, and Cerner support teams to implement and maintain EMR tools, applications, and training programs.
  • Participate system changes, including testing, training, and post-implementation evaluations to ensure seamless integration.
  • Provide data analysis and reporting to support regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in IT governance and strategic roadmap planning for clinical technology advancements.
  • Handle Level 1 IT support calls, providing quick resolutions for issues like password lockouts and basic troubleshooting.
  • Provide on-call support one week per month, with compensation provided for on-call duties.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely task completion in a healthcare setting
  • Work independently on projects and take the lead on assigned tasks, ensuring accountability, timely progress, and high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

We are seeking a qualified candidate with either a clinical or technical background to support our informatics and electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Cerner preferred). This position is ideal for individuals with strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for improving healthcare through technology.

We welcome applicants from one of the following backgrounds:

A. Clinical Track:

  • Licensed medical professional (e.g., Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of patient care workflows and clinical documentation.
  • Interest in health informatics or EMR systems (experience with Cerner is a plus).

OR

B. Technical Track:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Health Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in server, network, service desk roles, or software application support, preferably with clinical systems or EMR support (Cerner preferred).
  • Ability to work with clinical users to support and enhance EMR system functionality.
  • Experience handling Level 1 IT support calls, such as resolving password lockouts or basic troubleshooting.

Additional Qualifications for All Applicants:

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to foster collaboration across clinical and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to analyze workflows and implement system enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Certification in informatics or relevant IT credentials is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to learn EMR systems and healthcare technology, with comprehensive on-the-job training provided.
  • Possession of certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Cisco certifications is a plus but not required.
