Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure the efficient operation of hog units. This role involves troubleshooting, repair, and upkeep of various systems to create a safe, functional, and productive environment for livestock and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, including ventilation, water, feed systems, and waste management systems.
- Repairs: Diagnose and repair equipment or structural issues, such as feed lines, fans, heaters, plumbing, and electrical components.
- Troubleshooting: Respond to maintenance requests and quickly resolve issues affecting animal welfare or production efficiency.
- Record Keeping: Document maintenance activities, inventory used parts, and track any replacements or repairs in compliance with company policies.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols and biosecurity policies to ensure the well-being of animals and staff.
- Collaboration: Work closely with farm managers, veterinarians, and other team members to address maintenance issues and develop solutions that support unit productivity.
