Job Summary

The Construction Crew Member has a vital role within our operations, working under the direction of the Manager to execute a variety of building and site development tasks within several operations such as the feedlot, swine barns, housing, convenient stores, and other areas of need. This position is responsible for ensuring that all physical labor, material handling, and equipment operation are performed safely and efficiently. The Crew Member helps drive project timelines, maintains high quality standards, and represents the company professionally on every job site.

Safety

  • Follow all PPE requirements and OSHA safety standards at all times
  • Identify and communicate site hazards to the Crew Lead
  • Properly mark hazardous zones and maintain site safety protocols
  • Safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment
  • Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture

Quality & Compliance

  • Execute work according to blueprints, instructions, and company standards
  • Ensure all work complies with local and state building codes
  • Maintain high workmanship standards in tasks like framing, concrete work, and site prep
  • Properly handle and store materials to prevent damage or waste
  • Perform basic tool and equipment maintenance to ensure proper function

Efficiency & Operations

  • Complete assigned tasks on schedule to support project timelines which could entail the following:
    • Plumbing
    • Concrete Work
    • Carpentry
    • Drywall
    • Roofing
    • Painting
    • Water Lines
    • Dirt Work
  • Assist with site preparation, setup, and teardown efficiently
  • Manage materials effectively (receiving, unloading, organizing)
  • Manage inventory of supplies needed for projects and items for everyday use
  • Plan for projects supply needs for efficiencies
  • Minimize downtime by identifying material or equipment needs early
  • Adapt to changing site conditions and priorities quickly

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Follow directions from the Manager
  • Work cooperatively with team members, leads, managers and subcontractors
  • Support team workflow to improve productivity on-site
  • Communicate clearly about progress, issues, and needs
  • Contribute to a positive and professional job site environment

Attendance

  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance
  • Be punctual and ready to work at scheduled start times
  • Be flexible with work hours, including early mornings and travel when needed
  • Notify leadership promptly of any absences or delays

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in construction, general labor, carpentry, concrete, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools; experience with skid steers or light equipment is a plus
  • Basic electrical skills is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and construction plans
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Basic problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required when operating company vehicles)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for 8 or more hours per shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds consistently
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and dust.
