Clinic Nurse Manager – LPN or RN

Management/Administration – Full Time, Days, Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; Req # 2108

Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Clinic Nursing Supervisor to oversee and manage our clinic nursing staff and provide professional nursing care to patients. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the clinic and the delivery of high-quality care to all patients.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Nebraska.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Department Operations:
    • Oversee day-to-day clinic operations, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of patient care.
    • Develop and document procedures for consistent operations and manage inventory and supplies.
    • Set and achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  2. Patient Care:
    • Utilize the nursing process (assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate) to provide quality care to patients.
    • Take vital signs, collect specimens, perform treatments, and assist with procedures.
    • Provide patient and family education, including pre-op/post-op instructions and diagnostic test preparation.
  3. Emergency Treatment:
    • Provide emergency care as needed, triaging situations appropriately and following protocols.
    • Remain calm and responsive during emergency situations.
  4. Documentation:
    • Ensure accurate, ongoing assessments and proper documentation of patient care, including treatments and outcomes.
    • Conduct quality checks on documentation compliance.
  5. Effective Communication:
    • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and provide updates on patient conditions.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure quality outcomes.
  6. Patient and Staff Safety:
    • Administer treatments and medications safely according to healthcare provider orders and nursing policy.
    • Implement safety procedures, including infection control protocols, safe medication administration, and proper equipment use.
  7. Employee Relations & Leadership:
    • Foster a positive work environment and address employee concerns in a timely and effective manner.
    • Conduct employee performance appraisals, provide feedback, and promote employee development.
  8. Recruitment and Staff Development:
    • Recruit, orient, and train new nursing staff.
    • Provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities to staff.
  9. Financial Management:
    • Monitor and report departmental budgets, expenses, and variances.
    • Maintain accurate timekeeping records for staff.
  10. Quality Improvement:
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and report findings to the Quality Committee.
