JOB OVERVIEW
Boone Beginnings Early Childhood & Family Development Center is seeking a dynamic and visionary Center Director to lead and inspire our early childhood program. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, foster a vibrant learning environment, and drive strategic initiatives to ensure the center’s success. Your leadership will shape the educational experience for young children, support staff development, and promote community engagement. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Director is responsible for ensuring a safe and educational environment for children ranging in age from six weeks through Kindergarten. This includes, but is not limited to: complying with state regulation guidelines, managing staff, developing curricula, communicating & partnering with parents, coaching & coordinating team members, as well as collaborating with community partners. The Director will develop clear goals and direction for the organization while inspiring and leading a diverse team. The Director will report to the Board of Directors and will work in collaboration to uphold the vision, goals, values, and reputation of the child development center.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day activities of center, including but not limited to facilitating fair admission/enrollment, ensuring licensing requirements, accurately managing food program and subsidy data to DHHS
- Formulate and communicate the vision and strategic operation of Boone Beginnings Early Childhood & Family Development Center to the community and stakeholders in collaboration with the Board of Directors through strong relationships with parents, employees, community members, and contributors.
- Hire, train, evaluate, supervise, and dismiss staff. This includes providing leadership and supervision of interactions, activities, and materials appropriate for young children’s emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development.
- Maintain an inviting physical environment that fosters optimal growth and development.
- Prepare and manage annual budget.
- Protect and enhance the health and safety of the children and staff at the center.
- Preparing monthly agenda and treasurer’s report for the Board of Directors.
- In conjunction with the Board of Directors’ plan, manage, and monitor the Early Childhood Center’s finances and strategic plan to ensure resources for a high-quality program.
- Stay current in developments and best practices in early childhood education and issues relevant to the mission to make recommendations as appropriate.
- Oversee and manage grant requirements.
- Implement high-quality measurement systems such as ITERS/ECERS and Step Up to Quality.
- Represent Boone Beginnings as well as early childhood within the local and professional community through collaboration with community partners as well as other local childcare providers.

QUALIFICATIONS
- The director must be at least 19 years of age and of good moral character, and must hold a bachelors degree (preferred) or an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, education, or child development.
- Have completed or will need to complete additional licensed required trainings for directors (Management Training Program, Early Learning Guidelines, Safe With You, Prepare to Care, CACFP, Transportation Training, etc.).
- Ability to pass extensive fingerprint background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting children or heavy items (up to 50 lbs, unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, or walking
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, extensive work at the computer
- May be required to work outside in various temperatures and condition
- May be exposed to children with viral and bacterial illnesses or infectious diseases
- May exposed to high noise levels from children and student activity

COMPETITIVE PAY/BENEFITS BASED ON EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
