Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Clinic Nursing Supervisor to oversee and manage our clinic nursing staff and provide professional nursing care to patients. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the clinic and the delivery of high-quality care to all patients.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Nebraska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day clinic operations, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of patient care.
- Develop and document procedures for consistent operations and manage inventory and supplies.
- Set and achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Patient Care:
- Utilize the nursing process (assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate) to provide quality care to patients.
- Take vital signs, collect specimens, perform treatments, and assist with procedures.
- Provide patient and family education, including pre-op/post-op instructions and diagnostic test preparation.
- Emergency Treatment:
- Provide emergency care as needed, triaging situations appropriately and following protocols.
- Remain calm and responsive during emergency situations.
- Documentation:
- Ensure accurate, ongoing assessments and proper documentation of patient care, including treatments and outcomes.
- Conduct quality checks on documentation compliance.
- Effective Communication:
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and provide updates on patient conditions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure quality outcomes.
- Patient and Staff Safety:
- Administer treatments and medications safely according to healthcare provider orders and nursing policy.
- Implement safety procedures, including infection control protocols, safe medication administration, and proper equipment use.
- Employee Relations & Leadership:
- Foster a positive work environment and address employee concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Conduct employee performance appraisals, provide feedback, and promote employee development.
- Recruitment and Staff Development:
- Recruit, orient, and train new nursing staff.
- Provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities to staff.
- Financial Management:
- Monitor and report departmental budgets, expenses, and variances.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping records for staff.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and report findings to the Quality Committee.
