Valero Renewables operates an ethanol plant on 107 acres near Albion, producing ethanol, distillers’ grains, livestock feed, and fuel and feed-grade corn oil. The plant purchases its corn from farmers within roughly 50 miles, giving area growers a strong local market while converting Nebraska grain into renewable fuel and livestock feed coproducts. Part of Valero, one of the largest renewable fuels producers in the country, the Albion plant has been recognized under the EPA’s Efficient Producer Program for superior process efficiency and has earned multiple company awards for safety, reliability, and environmental performance.
