Network Specialist

Description

Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate computer and networking (Process Control Network) problems. Maintain VRF PCN and DMZ networks and ensure the network remains secure through both hardware/software configuration and end-user training.

  • Collects, monitors, and optimizes server performance and capacity to keep up with demand in online traffic.
  • Monitors security.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves network, hardware, and software issues and performs routine maintenance on these devices.
  • Deploys and maintains OT (Operations Technology) network infrastructure through Windows patching, Antivirus updates, firmware updates, and application updates.
  • Performs network component upgrades to maintain network equipment stability and deploys updated firmware to various routers and switches.
  • Installs network computers, servers, network, and communications equipment.
  • Continually improves and develops security protocols.
  • Periodically reports System and Cyber security KPI’s.

 

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Network Specialist required. An Associate’s degree (or higher level degree) in an IT-related field may substitute for the two years’ experience.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working with computer hardware and software required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with common troubleshooting tools like Command Prompt, PowerShell, Putty, Wireshark, etc. required.
  • CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco Network Professional certification(s) preferred.
